We are a group of parents, caregivers, professionals and faculty working together. By sharing information and resources, we create an ongoing discussion about issues relating to students with learning differences and disabilities. The committee is not a separate special education entity, but rather a committee of the Cumberland County District PTA Council.
The purpose of the Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA) Committee of Cumberland County is to bring together special families and schools to foster partnerships in the school setting and our community. We are committed to ensure that all children receiving special education services will be empowered to reach their full potential within the school district.
- To connect with other parents of children with learning differences, sharing information and resources
- To improve communication between schools, families and the community
- To increase acceptance and inclusion of students with special needs and learning differences in the school community
